GigaDevice Semiconductor (HK) Limited GD25LQ64CQIGR's Category - Flash

FLASH memory chips are mostly made of Flash Memory in the motherboard BIOS. Translated into Chinese, it is "flashing memory". It is usually called "flash memory" for short. A flash drive is a mobile storage product that can be used to store data files in any format for easy portability. It is an individual's "data mobile center". The flash drive uses flash memory storage medium (Flash Memory) and universal serial bus (USB) interface. It has characteristics such as lightness and delicacy, ease of use, portability, large capacity, safety and reliability, and fashion trends. It is an ideal portable storage tool for everyone. There are also different types of flash memory, mainly divided into two major categories: NOR type and NAND type.

The difference between NOR-type and NAND-type flash memory is very large. For example, NOR-type flash memory is more like memory. It has independent address lines and data lines, but it is relatively expensive and has a relatively small capacity. NAND-type is more like a hard disk. The address lines and data lines are shared I/O lines. Similar to all the information of a hard disk being transmitted through a hard disk cable.

Moreover, compared with NOR-type flash memory, NAND-type has a lower cost and a much larger capacity. Therefore, NOR-type flash memory is more suitable for occasions with frequent random reads and writes. It is usually used to store program codes and run directly in the flash memory. Mobile phones are large users of NOR-type flash memory. Therefore, the "memory" capacity of mobile phones is usually not large. NAND-type flash memory is mainly used to store data. The flash memory products we commonly use, such as flash drives and digital memory cards, are all made of NAND-type flash memory.
